still real Saabs (with the exception of the 9-7 and 9-2)
A friend of mine who had a 99 back in the late '70s got into my '96 9000 and as soon as he started to drive it he said, "Oh, yes, it's definitely a Saab."
I thought so to, having gone directly to the 9K after 20 years in an '84 C900. But I also drove the NG 900 and 9-3. All are Saabs, no matter the mix of parts.
My wife's 9-5 is the same way. Sure it's different than the others, but it's also newer and engineered to more modern standards. It still feels like a Saab. I like the 9000 better, but a 9-5 is still fine.
Not to worry: you have a Saab.
