Although the 9000 was co-designed by Lancia, Fiat (Alfa Romeo) and Saab, there really is no similarity between the cars. The basic dimensions are roughly the same, but by the time each individual manufacturer was done with their version of the car, they were all pretty different. The Lancia Thema and Alfa 164 are reasonably similar, but as the owner of several 9000s and a 1995 164, it's virtually impossible to tell the cars are related. They share no mechanical or electrical parts, and IIRC only three metal smallish metal stampings... Er - one modification - the Italians and the 9000 both use the same ZF 4HP18 automatic transmission, albeit packaged differently. Of course, Camaros and Mustangs used the aame Borg Warner T5, so that's probably not indicative of any real similarities...
