Down in CT I can see not getting them.

But I'm in NH and as I recall the Honda had NH plates, so the driver is aware that it snows and that road maintenance is not always what one might like.

The thing with FWD is that it's deceptive. Most of the time you get around OK in snow if you live where they plow quickly, you're careful, and take your time. It's when the roads haven't been done, the tires are a bit thin and gravity is not your friend that things go south.

I was headed out to ski, and seeing that the guy in the Honda looked like he was, too, I think he'd be pretty much OK once he got up that hill if he was going to the closest ski area. But if he was going to either of the next two areas he would have had a pretty frustrating morning.
