I am age 24, 6 feet tall, 145 lbs. Yes, very skinny.
My whole life, I have always been able to eat, eat, eat, eat and never gain a pound. Nothing. I consume anywhere from 2000-3000 calories per day, I am always hungry (even after I eat), and while I am not always tired, I can almost always take a nap. I need at least 8, if not 10 hours of sleep every night or I am completely worthless the next day (I don't drink coffee).
All of this by way of saying that my metabolism is astronomically high (my body produces energy from food inefficiently, requiring higher than normal caloric intake for basic existence). My metabolism is so crazy, in fact, that in high school I was checked for tapeworms because no matter how much I ate, I never gained an ounce and I was (and continue to be) always hungry. I eat plenty of meat, vegetables, and fruit, with no preservatives or other nastiness in my diet.
It's a blessing and a curse. And it's all true!
Arthur
