Gonzaga University, Madonna Hall, room 323. One of our friends from down the hall wandered into the room to get milk for her cereal, woke my roommate and I up and told us to turn on the TV. Her Mom worked in NYC and had called her to wake her up and tell her what happened. The three of us sat there in stunned, sleepy silence and watched coverage for a bit.

Followed that up by going to calculus where we turned on the tv and watched more coverage (as classmates who hadn't seen coverage filtered in). Went to 3 more classes where we didn't really stick to any kind of syllabus, mostly just talked about it since nobody wanted to go back to the dorms and hang out alone.

At noon, I found myself heading for mass without thinking about it (something I NEVER did during the week, and to that point, rarely did on Sundays). I'll never forget that mass; the big church on campus was completely packed with students, faculty, neighborhood residents and anybody else you could think of.
