I wonder how far the planitff's lawyer would argue Saab's duty to warn extends. Perhaps Saab should cut off further suits by printing a warning that losing control of the car, veering out of one's lane and driving off the road could lead to injury? Or maybe just that driving could lead to unforeseen situtations in which injury might occur?
My '97 900 SE has never "tripped" on the edge of a pavement. But then, I drive in a manner that avoids losing control of the vehicle, and know to not try to steer back onto the road at speed when one side of the car has run off onto a soft shoulder. This seems like stuff one might expect a reasonable driver to already know.
I guess it's fear of lawsuits like this one that are responsible for all of those seemingly nonsensical warnings we see printed in manuals, like knives with "Warning: sharp edges may cut."
