have a condition in which such situations may put your life at risk.

My two cents:
- Everybody is simply assuming what happened that day, so I will assume too. Cars that have performance characteristics that may not be common to the regular (average joe) driver should be responsible for informing the driver of such, the question is where to you draw the line....I mean, if I was to get my hands on a Dodge Viper and trash it because I don't have the driving skills to control the car, is that my fault? or should Dodge put a warning label saying "only drive this car if you are a very good driver". Who defines that? the driver? a school? the DMV RMV or whatever is called in your town? they gave you a license, they say you can drive, so why not put responsibility back on to them too??

- Locking the doors...None of my Saabs have had auto locking mechs. Old 900C, 9000s and 9-5 only get locked while parked or driving through a sketchy area. I have read in many places that while on the HWY, driving with the doors unlocked is safer because it decreases the rescue time....that can be argued. If someone is being rescued from a mangled car, breaking the windows to release the lock is no that difficult, I believe that the difficulty will come (saying this by experience) trying to open a door that's out of whack. In a front collision the fenders may push back and prevent the door from opening, on a side collision you can only imagine how bad the hinges get, cars that flip....you get the point. So, IMO the locking thing is not that important....

I also believe that cars that have deadbolts open after the car has stopped moving......
