with you on the heat issue, although you could have a gasoline heater installed. In '73 (my first new car) they redesigned the heating system and it would about roast you right out of the car (at least for the first few years until the heater boxes rusted out). I never found the light front end to be that much of a problem and you could help it by putting a little weight in the trunk. Compared to the other cars of the era (most of which were rear wheel drive) it was about as good of a winter car as you could get. I haven't driven one in years, but I suspect it would be pretty appalling by modern standards
