My gut (and a lot of time reading here) tells me the newer cars, although less "Saaby", are more reliable. I can tell you from experience the 2.0L in the OG9-3 can be problematic, sludge happens even with synthetic and 5k OCI's. Add in an old body style and a host of build problems/quirks and they're simply not the car I'd hoped for coming from a C900. Personally, I'd be looking at a SportCombi if a Saab were in the cards for my next car. However, after four years of OG9-3 ownership I need to more fully weigh all my options.
