Why stop at an NG900-OG9-3? 9-3SS' and 9-5's are almost as cheap.
In regards to an NG900/OG9-3, my favorite models are any 900S normally aspirated. Spunky car, very durable and especially good with the 4-speed Aisin Warner auto tranny in sport mode. And 9-3's in SE trim or premium package with the digital climate control, power passenger seat, upgraded stereo and gorgeous wood dash. The SE's are 200-205 hp turbos, again very spunky and great with the automatic. I'd slide back into late NG900 turbo SE models, especially if it were a 3 door, but avoid the NG900 V6. OG9-3's are all turbos. A very different car than a C900, but a Saab through and through IMHO.
But why stop there? The best Saab of all time is the 9-5. A 9-5 makes an NG900/OG9-3 seem crude. a 9-5 is only a handful longer, the best Saab design themes of all, comfort, luxury, performance and the really cool SportWagons. Try one.
