easiest choice:
I would prefer to avoid the drinking, so if you get pulled over, there is no smell, evidence, lying, etc.. regarding that issue. They pull tons of people over on little things at night, like a license plate light out or thought they saw a seatbelt violation just for an opportunity to check sobriety. A conviction for this is major notch in the belt for the cop as they and their superiors have seen plenty of cases where drunk driving leads to unsafe things like crashes and needless deaths.
Minimize drinking before a drive. Have a water, a beer, and a water instead of three beers for example, and don't hurry through the process. It will save lots of money, and you still got to have beer and a good time with your friends. Unless you are a waif on an empty stomach, you will probably not be impaired, nor lose enough inhibition to make a poor decision.
I personally would not want to have a roadside sobriety test. I can not for example recite the alphabet backwards, etc... and would prefer not to have to prove my innocence on the side of the road.
