I haven't seen the specific study you mention, but I did see one that showed no increase in accidents between a BAL of .08 and .10.

I suspect you're right, probably some politician got on a lower-must-be-better high horse, combined with insurance companies look for an excuse to raise their rates. Don't you love how they look out for their own customers like that! It does amuse me that they recently spent millions lobbying for speed cameras, but to avoid any legal conflict most municipalities now consider speed camera tickets a civil matter, which means insurance companies won't get to raise their rates if you get a camera ticket. How sad!

I would be pretty pissed if I got a drunk driving arrest for being at .09, had to spend the night in jail, and pay thousands in fines, attorney fees, and insurance increases when there's no evidence that I did anything dangerous! Does anyone know of any interesting links to studies that either support or don't support the current limit?
