Have written or phoned your state legislators ? I think it's only a matter of time before most states adopt restrictions on cell phone use when driving - such legislation has been introduced in many states but only passed in some.
Such was the case here in Colorado, I believe a law was proposed but failed to pass. A law was enacted that requires a driver keep 3 feet between his car and a bike rider - another measure which will be difficult to enforce. Being a bike rider I can't believe how many times I've seen cars pull up at a stop sign or signal and I'm supposed to have the right of way - but the driver is on their cell phone and is looking for oncoming trafiic - and completely fails to see me on my bike.
Some of the responses here bring to mind one of my favorite movies - Sly Stallone in Judge Dredd -" the law is never wrong"
"tried convicted and sentenced " perp asks "what is the sentence - life ?"
Judge Dredd then shoots him dead and answers the question " no - death"
