I allow my staff to post to it during the day IFF it favorably promotes our business interests, shows our staff favorably, and doesn't cause any privacy problems. Things that help our networks of friends understand what we do, what's new, what's cool about their employer, etc... We're an ISP, so things they might post are "just installed 2 customer and repaired another, now waiting for the ferry", or someone posting pix from the mobile phone of a new tower we just built to expand our coverage, or mentioning something innovative going on.
I also use it to be a little friendlier with other local business people we interact with. If you want to, you can look at their vacation pix, wish them a happy birthday/anniversary, understand their interests, etc...
Some of the staff have blogs too, for more thoughtful longer posts. We used to have a problem with some of them blogging during the workday, so some of them turned off the time posted display so we couldn't see when the post went up. Facebook shows the time of posts, so there is no question when the slacking was done. (if it's not work related)
