First of all, I just want to clarify that "bang for your buck" will be undefined - you can't divide by zero (or you'll go to hell, according to a professor from my alma mater). Don't pay for any of these services.
As a 20 somethin' automotive engineer, I've only got a facebook account. It's apparently got pretty good iphone integration, too, though I don't have the iphone experience myself. But I can tell you the iphone/facebook combo is very popular among engineers at our factory.
IMO, twitter pages are for girls in junior high. I don't actually have one of my own, so my opinion may be biased.
I've got several coworkers who recommend a Linked-in page, being a "facebook for professionals" - but I have stayed away. Two reasons jump to mind, one being I don't have a very extensive resumé to brag about, the other being an innate resistance to supplying fairly personal information to the interwebs.
Granted, facebook will have a lot of ways for you to share personal information, but the privacy options give you a lot of flexibility to help you control who can see what. Facebook is good for staying in touch with high-school/college friends, cousins, co-workers, etc. Sharing photos, sending messages, and even sending out e-vites is pretty easy with facebook. The big downside is you have to get all the "apps" under control - facebook has exploded with games to play, and everyone wants to invite you to be part of their "crew" on these games. but some games are fun, and help the time go by at work on days when I've lost my motivation.
Unless you want to do a lot of professional networking, job searching, or the like, I'd recommend a facebook page. Now I mean no personal offense to you, but I think it's kinda weird when people >= middle aged are joining facebook; e.g., when one of my friends is "friends" with their mom or dad online. Just had to say that, sorry. but otherwise, it's a pretty good way to stay connected.
As far as your own webpage - I think that would be unnecessary. A photo sharing site would be a good idea; I like Google's Picasaweb. Blog sites like xanga or blogspot are also pretty easy to set up, but seem kinda pointless a lot of the times, unless you do lots of updates.
Good luck out there!
