My $0.02.
That is intriguing, but the one thing that is missing, and that is true for the current line-up with the exception of the 9-3 wagon, is practicality. Give me a wagon, or hatch, with a low, wide sill to carry lots of stuff camping, or a full-sized stove back from a big box store and you have my attention. Put a nice wrap-around front wind screen on it with properly proportioned A-pillars that are strong and yet sturdy and I'll be justifying that car to the wife.
The only 2-door coupe I ever liked (from any manufacturer) was the SAAB 99. I'm not into sedans either, though, I know that buts me in the minority in the USA. SAAB to me stands for a sense of form-follows-function style with practicality. Not gimmickery - we had too much of that under GM. (Please put the alloys that are suppose to look like turbo fans or propellers a rest!)
So I'm excited that people are thinking about what the "next" SAAB should look like, but that one misses the mark IMHO. Now, let's see some more designs ... something that is an icon and brings new customers into the fold to make SAAB profitable again.
