I know one guy who's afraid to put much beyond trash barrels in the bed of his Dodge because it will get dirty. Go figure.
I had an S-10 beater for a few years while I was building a stone wall. Very useful machine. Since replaced with a trailer that tows behind my 9K, I often wish for a truck again. I'll likely have one again sooner or later. I live in a semi-rural town and the things are just flat useful. The pick-up per capita factor is kinda high here, many used as commuting rats, for weekly trips to the dump and occasional Home Depot runs. Many clearly have never seen a load of topsoil, rocks, gravel, etc. Then there's the weenies with "show trucks" that are all chromed and riced out. I don't understand that at all.
Still, I think they're a nuisance on the road when I'm in a car. You can't see through them and most driving them seem pretty inept.
