Except that people shopping the new 9-5 aren't likely going to be shopping $65k-$80k cars.
Someone looking to spend $50K+ for a new AWD sedan can easily get into a nicely equipped Audi A6 Quattro AWD, BMW 528i xDrive AWD or Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic AWD. And because image is often a driving factor for a luxury car purchase, these models are going to have more appeal especially given recent events in Saab's history.
The new 9-5, while a very very nice car, is priced notably higher than Saab's traditional market segment and the question is will Saab be able to compete in the $50K+ price point when last year's 9-5s were often selling the $30s.
And for traditional Saab buyers, is the larger size, extra gadgets, etc. appealing enough to justify the higher price tag?
