I think it takes more than a test drive to really appreciate the jump forward this car makes. I tend to keep my car in "Sport" mode as I did with my last two 9-5 Aeros. The slight hesitation you may experience in the other two modes is eliminated and the car really has a nice linear pull all the way through the gears. While many continue to comment on the size of the car it drives "smaller" than it looks. The XWD really keeps the car planted much better than my previous Aeros and, of course, no torque steer. I have grown a bit addicted to the HUD, especially when using the NAV. I think the original 9-5 had grown so long in the tooth that this car had a lot of catching up to do and, for the most part, it accomplishes that. There are some negatives, I find the visibility less than perfect. All three pillars are chunky and can block the view. I am more used to it but it's an issue. And I am not blind to some of the GM DNA that exists in the car but none of it's significant. The car drives all Saab, any reference to a re badged Buick is just ignorant. This is no 9-7. My car is pretty fully loaded and the technology is right up to date. I've yet to see another one on the road here in Boston, my guess is Saab is holding back any real marketing till they get the 2011's off the ship and into dealerships so people can choose from the different variants available. After 3000 miles I have no buyer's remorse and think this is the best of the five Saabs I have owned. I love driving it.
