I agree, there's a decent amount of planned obsolescence in it... correct me if I'm wrong (quite possible), but my impression was that (historically anyway) GMAC and similar financing operations raked in loads of money, it was the manufacturers themselves that were losers... maybe with some of the low rates + upside-down leases in recent years, that changed?
but yeah, I can't bring myself to spend that much on an item that depreciates so quickly, or a "rental"... don't get me wrong, there are advantages (and thankfully, there are those that buy new so I can buy used), but we spend very little to own + insure our 2 c900s + in spite of the occasional inconvenience when something breaks, we enjoy them as much as a new car, possibly more...
