OK, for those that wondered about the reasons behind a lot of the design aspects of the PhoeniX concept and how that might relate (or not relate) to future Saab production cars...this video interview with Jason covers much of that and should calm a lot of the concerns we all had on first view of the PhoeniX concept.

Jason explains why some things on the PhoeniX appear so "wild" and admits that part of it was to generate discussion (which it has!). He goes on to say that production cars will pick up some of these cues (more the front than the rear), but they will not be as exaggerated and that the new 9-3 will be more iconic. The PhoeniX is just expanding some design cues to go with the Aero-X cues. In other words, they are not abandoning the Aero-X ideas that have surfaced in the new 9-5 and 9-4X.
