Yes, nature is very powerful and can make us feel very vulnerable, but as a whole we as a species are having a very large impact on the rest of the biosphere. The way I see the world, every species interacts with its environment, and humans are not the only ones changing their surroundings. However, the level of impact is way higher when comparing to other extant species. We're pretty much in the same league as those single-celled organisms that first produced the oxygen in the atmosphere, allowing for terrestrial life to evolve.
In the present world it's almost impossible to find ecosystems that would not have been affected by humans. Think of toxic compounds accumulating in arctic ecosystems or nitrogen deposition affecting plant communities in remote mountainous areas.
Nature is all about change, but we humans are changing our environment at such a rate that other organisms are having a hard time adapting. Humans are also incredibly numerous when compared to any other animal of similar body size and covering an astonishingly wide distribution.
