We have AT&T DSL services, and we have been using a Netgear WGT624 V3 wireless router (2.4GHz 802.11g).
We live in a 2 bedroom / 2 bath condo that is about 1100 sqft. Attached to this router are: 2 laptops (a 2+ year old Dell + newer one that has "N" wireless), iPad rev1, Roku (netflix), Wii (older, streaming netflix), and sometimes our iPhone 3GS and/or Blackberry Bold. From time to time it will drop out and we "reboot the internet" by cycling power on the router. Let's say that's a 4x a week deal.
We bought a new Netgear N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit router (WNDR4000) and thought that it offer better reliability and performance. As it turns out, all the âGâ devices barely work at all on this router. Netflix wonât load up, times out. My wife (computer engineering degree) spent 2 evenings reading manuals, internet forums, and tweaking to no avail. I said letâs try an alternate. We went to best buy and got a Linksys E2500 Dual Band N router, and a new AT&T DSL modem. We tried Netgear N750 + New modem, Linksys + old & new modem⦠All combos still have terrible performance on for the older devices. We do not intend to upgrade all devices, we hoped we could upgrade the networking gear and get better overall performance.
Since Saabnet General BB canât be stumped, can any anyone offer tips?
Randy
