There is no such thing as a "one wrench fits all" for torque wrenches. One that goes up to 250 won't start until 75 or so, so if you need to measure below that, you need the lower value wrench. I did a timing belt on my Volvo 940 last weekend, and if I'd had my 250 ftlb wrench with me, I wouldn't have been able to check the first torque for the pulley nut at 44 foot-lbs.
I have three that cover the range, all are Sears Craftsman: 1/2 drive up to 150 and another one to 250, and 3/8 drive to about 75-80. I even have a tiny 1/4 drive one that doesn't see a lot of use...
