than go straight for a few seconds. You're right about being able to see everything at a drag strip, which is great, but to me, the cars aren't doing anything. Watch the tree, nail the gas, light up the tires a bit and keep it straight for a few seconds. Next. Probably more interesting to walk around the pits and see what people are doing. IMHO, of course!
I always looked at it that you build a quarter of a car for a quarter mile race. All it can do is go fast in a straight line. It can't turn right or left very well, and it doesn't have to stop all that well. Not interesting or fun.
Then there's driver skill, which seems pretty limited in drag racing.
