So, the cars are too expensive, and they can't go far enough and require exponentially more time to "recharge". Those are not trivial matters. And FWIW, electricity is not a "fuel", per se, but rather a storage medium. Gasoline is a fuel, we pull it out of the ground. Electricity is produced from energy sources.
I'm a supporter of electric vehicles so long as they present themselves as a compelling option in the marketplace and compete economically on their own. Right now they are severely compromised in many aspects, so they're relegated to a small niche of the luxury market which is perversely supported by giant government subsidies, ie, taxing the many to subsidize luxury purchases by the few.
