IMHO, at least half the dealers in the country would go out of business if the general public knew anything at all about cars and how they work. There is almost no such thing as a reputable car dealership that cares about its customers.
Good dealerships are few and far between and only a handful see customers as anything more than a cash cow to be milked at every opportunity. They all operate with the philosophy that losing a customer doesn't matter because there are plenty more out there. This is a major reason why I prefer to buy used cars, privately when possible, and either service it myself or have an indy work on it. My indy cares about keeping me happy.
