Well good luck to them. Sure, if they come up with an innovative, efficient hybrid with virtues of utility, durability and style, they may have a shot. But the question on the table was a facelifted 9-3 for $40k. I am a new car buyer. I got my 2011 A4 Avant for under $40k. It is a far (and that's putting it mildly) superior car to the 9-5 I drove for 10 years. I am sympathetic to Saab virtues, but a 9-3 for $40k would not even be on my radar. Saab loyalty did not help much with the NG 9-5 (which I also drove and considered). Like I said, I hope they succeed and if they came up with an interesting car I'd be happy to have one.
