Just finished an 8 hour back and forth trip to Lake Nacimiento and averaged 30mpg in our 07 9-3 running about 70 mph for long stretches.
That same car gets 15mpg going back and forth to my work at 2 miles one way.
Driving an 06 9-3 V6 back and forth to work a few weeks ago gave me 9mpg.
With all these horse powers waiting to get released, you can crash your gas mileage easily by driving style and short trips with lots of cold starts.
So when people say they get mid 30s mpg on a regular basis I take that with a grain of salt and know that they are babying it and probably aiming for the golden udder award.
