I agree... the front end is kind of bland, but the rear end hatch of the later version is absolutely brilliant and timeless!
I think there is a dichotomy here: some people who bought into the brand more recently as a value proposition for sedans like the 9-5 and 9-3ss have one set of tastes... then there are those who bought into the older saab hatchbacks for the unique characteristics that got blanded out by GM... lots of great clean Scandinavian design happened post GM, but within a set of bounds that limited what could have been imho... The c900 is going to become a true classic. The 9k maybe not as much, but that hatch design was genius!
