I don't understand why you don't have a huge desire to own an electric vehicle - with your solar array, you have the opportunity to drive practically for free. If you haven't tried it, please go test drive a Chevy Volt in "sport" mode and you will probably be surprised. It's not a Viggen, but it's certainly not a slouch like a Prius.
There are about to be many electric cars on the market that are significantly cheaper than a Tesla. Example: Cadillac is about to release a luxury sport coupe based on the Volt drivetrain - of course they are going to make it more "luxurious" and quicker than a Volt, but given what's underneath it will be priced significantly less than a Tesla.
I also agree that a gas powered 9-3 is an instant turkey. Even if it was a desirable car (which given its now older technology and style it isn't going to be top of anyone's list), any potential buyer will have to think long and hard about the potential for NEVS to slide quickly into bankruptcy.
