I don't see any value in doing it if only snow is the issue. But in conditions where ice can form on the windshield while the car is parked, I'll put mine up so I don't have to chisel out the wipers later.
I do have to say that while it doesn't have the electrically-heated wiper area that others mention, my Audi does have a bunch of defroster air jets directed right where the wipers sit when parked, presumably to help melt ice. But I usually will use an ice scraper because I'm not patient enough to wait for the engine to warm enough for that to work.
