The few seat belts to replace wouldn't be a problem, and keep the good guy image. Their under no law now to replace them. You might remember the mass recall in the Chevy Colbolts with their ignition problem. The recall was in upwards of 10million if you were to add every Saab ever made to that list to fix this issue GM would be no more. A government pay out couldn't support them.
One thing every Saab has in commen is the center ignition switch. I owend my 9-5 for about 4 years or more and while the car was running I hardely touched the top of the key and the car shut off, lost power steering and the only way to restart it was to come to a full stop shift in park, press the brake and turn the key to off then to run as if I was entering the car while it was parked. In 4 years this only happend once. I tryed to get it to do it again and can't needless to say it happend. Never happend in my 9-3 or my 9000 both GM
The 9000 has the same ignition as the colbolt (side of steering wheel) but still all my long years driving Saabs only once it happend in the 9-5.
If you were to add every Saab to the recall list it would end GM.
If Mullen would have gotten the brand off and running and this issue came up he could sue GM the amount of the recall for not disclosing the error in the car which would effectively end GM.
To replace a few seat belts... pff chump change and keep the good guy image. GM wanted Saab dead to get free of any negligence.
Take a look at their truck line up, their 1500 Sierra pickup alone has the SL series, the SLE series, the SLT series, Denali series & the HD. This is just their Sierra line up. Instead of ending the SL or SLE they chose to end their mid sized car when gas prices are at their highest.
Saab has a problem, an issue that is nolonger GM's problem don't count on them recalling anything in your Saab.
