You are going to want to recheck your facts. The recalled ignition switch was demonstrably underdesigned and could be readily and reliably caused to fail in a specific way. GM was able to reproduce those failures in a lab and reconstruct the failures from the accident. It was a definable mechanical failure. A switch made in a way other switches were not leading to a condition other switches necessarily could not have.
The 9-5's ignition switch is not even remotely similar in design, function, or operation. As you yourself have indicated, you could not reproduce the problem. That suggests unusual circumstances and not a design failure caused your problem. That is very different from the GM scenario.
To draw a parallel between the situations is simply not logical. The parts are fundamentally different, the nature of the failure is fundamentally different.
