actually your point is backed by statistics that show mechanical issues are indeed low on the causes of accidents - which has helped states decide to do away with annual vehicle inspections - which as I previously stated exposed too many vehicle owners to unnecessary repairs.

I do my own vehicle inspections but owners that feel the need to have this done by a shop - I've seen plenty of ads that offer free vehicle safety checks.

Although my experience in PA was over 20 yrs ago anger and revulsion is still with me regarding how the state government subjects residents to an obsolete program that does very little to impact safety but promotes predatory practices by their authorized inspection stations.

To me life in PA brought to mind the moorlocks in the time machine.
