According to the Tesla website, which shows all the SuperCharger stations, there is one I could use in Bangor, Maine. Bangor is 238 miles and 3:20 drive for use, running 75-80 with almost no opportunity for regen braking. Then its nearly 500 miles to our other house (all 75-80) with ZERO SuperChargers. So it doesn't work.
Most other trips I do would be ok, but not the one we do 3-4 times a year.
I know our needs are a bit different than the norm, but at least for now range puts the kibosh on an EV. A Volt might work, but they lack the punch that a Tesla offers. So the old 9-5 will have to keep doing the job for now.
