My car crashed yesterday in competition of the newest sliding sport "Carling" -- a mix of Curling, and cars on ice. Parked on a slope by my shop, got out of the car, it started to slide down the 30 degree icey slope about 12 feet then impact. Almost disappeared into the ravine, it was lodged / wedged onto the pipe railing, and stuck. Bigtime. Took two tow trucks and 3 guys to get it off the railing. Then I drove it home. Tough little beasts these Swedish Saabs……..
Approaching the car, I did a backwards slide feet planted on the asphalt, ski tuck position, but like I was getting ready to throw a triple Lutz, only got a half Lutz with a .3875 back sommersault landing flat on my back in the brush of the ravine. It would have taken the tow trucks and the Sumo wrestler from the Olympics skating commercial to hoist me out if I had gone all the way down into the creek.
OK so go USA in the Gold Medal competition Saturday vs Sweden in Curling!!
