Here's a story in the "small world" category: When I started my first real full-time job in November 1979, I applied for a Sears credit card in the mall down the street from work and bought my first "real" tools (vs. the Asian crap that I had been using), a Craftsman 150-piece mechanics tool set (metric), which is still the core of my tool collection. Tools that you packed in the summer of 1979 may have made their way to me by November!

I will note that some quality has been taken out of Craftsman tools in the interim. Example: the ratchet handle direction lever was metal, now plastic - which seems bound for failure.
