The adaptive cruise control reduces fatigue greatly. I've used it and love it in urban driving. The Subaru lane keeping (that I've tried) is unobtrusive and easy too override. It simply gives the steering wheel a little jiggle if you start to drift off the road. You'd be surprised how often people get injured and killed this way. The auto-stop can obviously save your life or a pedestrians. Human beings are pretty bad at driving and need all the help they can get. 30,000 people (give or take) die every year primarily because someone screwed up. This could change that greatly and is a small price to play. I can remember when people thought anti-lock braking was an unwanted intrusion. I've been driving since 1968 and have never been in an accident that I caused. But at 66 I'm not as sharp as I used to be--I'll take all the safety I can get.
