We've got CSAAA (triple A of California). They've always been extraordinarily fair to us. Yes, doesn't really matter if it was an honest mistake (which I am assuming it was) or a negligent driver (which I am assuming it was not), going through a red light is still the driver's fault. KBB valued my 2005 9-2X Aero at around $6K in the highest/best condition but insurance gave me $10,200 and I was able to replace it (see thread about it at link below). I accepted the first offer. The way our insurance works is that we don't have to deal with anybody else's insurance and it doesn't matter if the other driver was insured or not... If they are insured, AAA will take care of settling with that insurance and we don't have to wait for any of that to happen.
