OT: PayPal sucks Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Fri, 2 Apr 2021 18:24:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've really about had it with these people. It's worse than dealing with the DMV. Latest issue - I cannot log into my account. They insist on sending me a code via text message as verification but I have no way to receive text messages. (I do not have a smartphone and have no interest in obtaining one.)
There is a "Call you with a code" option on the verification that pops up but that does not result in a voice call - they must still send a text to be responded to, which I never receive because I have a voice-only plan. These *?@#$%! seem to blithely assume everyone on the planet can receive text messages. Anyone know a way around this? My credit card is changing so basically PayPal will become useless if I cannot log in and change it. (Last time I had a problem with PayPal they could not fix it and I had to create a new account under a different email address to get around it. I suspect at this point they may not even have the option "I don't have a smartphone" when signing up.)
Anyone know of a way around this?
Steam coming out of my ears in NJ...
EDIT: Looking at the following thread in the Paypal forum that started last year and continues right up to this month, it appears I'm not the only one who has this problem. Paypal's "solution" amounts to "get a smartphone or you can't use our services." I'll call their support but past experience tells me they will do nothing, so it looks likely I'll be closing or at least not using my Paypal account. Anyone know of alternatives that are more flexible?
