Up until the pandemic hit a year ago I was in my 13th year at Home Depot Rentals, and truck rental was always done through the rental department. Non-rental stores it was done through the service desk, so the store you rented a truck from must not have had a rental department. The company was not afraid of change as it seemed like every week something new was rolling out, and more times than not there were many bugs that took months to sort out. They tout these changes as time savers for employees, and eventually they'll get everything sorted out, but there will be many frustrated souls until they do. Personally I enjoyed my years there helping people, but the more I think about going back, the more I can convince myself I had enough frustration for one lifetime.
