The Yugo was based on the FIAT 17 - you get the picture!. Got is with low miles when 3 years old. I used to carry a timing light in a holster, a gallon of brake fluid in the trunk (boot actually since this was in Ireland), a statue of St Christopher (patron saint of stranded travellers), a prayer to St Jude (patron saint of hopeless causes). This thing had a 903 CC 4 cyl engine and did 0-60 in about 2.5 minutes on a good day. The engine was the best part. Most of the other parts just fell off.
My brother kept it running until about 1992 Reg. number: 5043 IF may it RIP. Then he bought a Skoda - is he a masochist?
