I have lived in the USA, I know the system.
- Lived in LA
- Worked in San Jose

1st of all, for any loans etc you need to have a
perfect CC record. Someone tell me how someone
that has lived abroad for many years can get such
a record in the US even if he has a perfect record.
Simple answer to this, there is no way. The only way
is to use a US Credit Card and to build a record.
And then pay 18% interest or more... come on... LOL

2nd, to get a US CC later in life you need to use
a secured account, on which you need to block a
substantial amount of money. That's OK with me
but the problem I have here is that I never give
any CC company the ability to draw cash directly
from any of my accounts. If they do a mistake and
they can't draw cash I am always in a better position.

So how did I do it while I was in the US, working there
etc... very simple... simply payed with checks (talk
about dark ages here, no one uses these in Europe anymore)
and when I used my CC I used a Euro account to pay the bills.
No problem at all with Swiss banks. They wire money
faster then the time it takes you to say "wire"...
And a CC is a CC LOL

I would like to add here that US bankers should look at
the Swiss to learn how simple day to day banking for regular
people is done. Cause this is a service which is way better
here then in the US.

I honestly feel sorry for most US consumers... you are being
serverd very poorly by your banks.

Regards,
Coolknight
