OLDs was trying to position itself as the best
GM car... and when you're GM and you're fighting
like nuts to get Cadi. fixed and SAAB going while
you have the OPEL problem also... at some point
in time I guess GM decided that OLDs was hurting
more then helping... so they axed it cause they
were selling OLDs cars at a too low price to make
money with anyways.
And if you look at the OLDs product lineup...
even the Aurora does not do so well when you
compare it to a 9-5... and the other cars
were nothing special.
Honestly... I think I would have done the same thing,
axe OLDs... with Pontiac, Buick, Chevy, Cadi., SAAB,
GMC, OPEL, Vauxhall and Holden on their hands... they're
busy enough... next they need to figure out how they
will position their brands.
