All the ranting about GM's destruction of Saab is wearisome. I don't believe anyone posting on the SAAB Network has the least bit of influence with GM's decision makers. Everyone posting on this board should note that Don Chasins rarely, if ever, logged in with informative posts (and if he did it was under an alias) and has anybody seen a post from the new prez of Saab U.S: Debra Kelly-Ennis (or is her alias "saabgirlie")? I haven't and I check the 'board almost daily. All that anti-GM talk reminds me of the old expression "Call me anything, but call my name!"

Ford purchased Aston Martin, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Volvo. Let's see what's happened to them: Aston Martin enjoys a resurgence for its performance oriented sports cars, Jag is back with some of the most beautiful cars on the road (IMO); Land Rover enjoys success with the SUV gang that wants something with "heritage," and Volvo enjoys a newly earned rep for performance to go with its long standing image of safety. All because Ford "dumped" billions into these floundering marques.

Many will find fault with this simple assessment. The Euro Fords may not be in the black and may still be on very shakey ground, but they have all enjoyed a renewed popularity in the U.S. If GM can do for Saab what Ford has done for Jag, Land Rover, and Volvo, then Saab will ultimately be O.K.

All I know is that without GM's billion dollar investment, Saab would most likely no longer be with us. I'd rather have a living, breathing Saab turning out incredibly fine automobiles than not. Keep in mind the big picture and be pleased Saab is still here to make us smile. Be happy Saab is EVOLVING and not a dinosaur waiting to petrify.

Finally, remember that when FIAT bought Ferrari the Prancing Horse didn't die. VW owns Audi and Porche. Does anyone remember how crappy the 80's - early 90's Audi's were? Audi is now building terrific cars thanks to VW cash. Has VW ownership ruined Porche? NO. Are Porche fanatics happy about the new "Cayenne?" Who knows. Porche fanatics only buy 911's!

Just my $ 0.02.
