people should check the Lubrizol site (below).
ACEA A5 is a slightly upgraded A1, just as A3 is a slightly upgraded A2. Think A1 when you see A5. Saab's recommendation is A3, and almost no 30 weight oils meet ACEA A3.

I suspect that the GM LL-A-025 issue with US made Mobil 1 is a labelling issue, nothing to do with the contents of the bottle. It would be nice to hear that from Mobil.

Saab labelled oil in England is 0W40 (full syn), 5W30 (syn blend) and 10W30 (conventional oil).

Most low-temperature-compatible ACEA A3 rated oils are fully synthetic 5W40. There are a very few 5W30 and 10W30 fully and semi-syntetic ACEA A3 oils out there. There are also some semi-synthetic 10W40 ACEA A3 oils. Castrol is odd in having 5W50 and 10W40 variants.

The problem with stretching your oil change interval is there are no uniform measures for determining just how far gone your oil is, except by on-board oil monitoring instruments or laboratory oil condition monitoring correllated to YOUR car and YOUR driving habits. You can't use someone else's oil monitor results to predict the oil condition in your vehicle unless you have the same car and you follow him everywhere.
