Greg, thanks for your analysis, opinions and warnings. Hanging out with you guys is like taking a graduate level chemistry class. I just wished I had finished Chem 101. I have to admit this is way over my head and I do not have the background to add much to the conversation. It's funny, my car has 5k miles on it and I haven't changed my oil because, Damn, what if I use the wrong oil and the car car stops dead tomorrow. I've made a decision. I am going to change it every 5k miles with the oil and filter I buy at the parts department of my local Saab dealer. The same oil they put in it for free at 10, 20 and 30k miles. Yeh, it is semi-synthetic and yeh it is 5w-30. I know none of you would ever buy my car used because of the way I'm trashing it. But you know what? I think I'll sleep well tonight.
