oil grade. I base this on my experience with ships, which are required to burn #2 diesel in ports and fuel oil on the open ocean. I could be wrong, but that is my understanding. I've seen the difference: #2 diesel is thinner and clearer than fuel oil, while fuel oil looks like used motor oil.
