On Hyundai V6 engines you have to remove the intake manifold to get to the rear plugs. Truly a PITA.
Some 4-cylinder cars with transverse engines also had the plugs on the "wrong" side of the engine. (The old Chevy Citation comes to mind. Not that you're likely to run into one of those at this late date.)
